was able to grind out a c-note today
Total real money | $279.00 |
Pending Bonus Dollars | $87.05 |
total hands: 258
I put in another couple of hands tonight. I got stuck early playing heads up before my table filled. And then I had to battle the short stacks. I was able to over come my losses and booked my win once I showed $100 profit.
I had more money in play than I would have liked. I was giving excellent implied odds too anyone who had more than the max buyin. I was also out of position of one of the better players.
I'll take my positve session and run with it. I am still feeling run down from my sinus issue.
here is my chart for the day (I'll take it), I was looking at my chart for the year and had a monster downswing but have been recovering the last 10k hands. I might post that at the end of June.
I ws looking over my pokertracker stats. I was dissapointed to see that I am showing a $!27 loss for the year in my cash games. Although I have booked and $1800, a $400, a $850, and a couple of other smaller MTT wins.
All I can say is thank god for rakeback. My rakeback payments for the year are probably ~1500.
whats crazy about my stats is that I am showing a +2.2bb winrate. but an overall loss. My biggest loser is 2/4 6 max limit for -$170 amd .5/1 limit for -$152. I'm beating all other games, show the most profit at $50NL of ~$500 over 5k hands winning at 9.91bb/100.
Well thats all I have, gl!

I was pretty suprised that you said your were -$27 for the year in cash games. Everytime I check out your blog and I see a post about cash games your generally posting winnings. I guess thats the nature of cash games? I can't comment too much about them because I have very, very limited exposure to them.
A while back you recommended several poker training sites. I'm hoping your recommendations were based on personal experience at each one. If you had to point an aspiring NL cash game player to a particular site which one would it be? From what I've read it appears that pokerfox.net is a pretty good resource that covers many topics including rakeback, bonus whoring and BR management. At $50/year it seems like a pretty good deal. Cardrunners is another option but I'm a little unsure whether their content is going to help a new online NL cash player who was is going to be playing the .25/.50 tables and lower. Thanks.
Nice comeback since the beginning of the week. Good decision not to go below $25nl, there's no real point.
zeke, I was kind of surprised about the lose too. I am somewhat sceptical how accurate it is. I know for certain that some of my sessions were not logged by my pokertracker. Additionaly bodog, casino.net, and a couple of other sites are not compatible with PT. Nor some of my other favorite games like stud :-)I cleared all filters and the info I showed is what I posted.
Additionally I am not afraid to admit that I was a terrible NL cash game player earlier this year. In the last 3 months my game has really came together.
As far as the training sites, I have experience with several of them, and thankfully the have all helped me from making any deposits.
Pokerfox.net is definetly an undesputable value. $4 per month, hell thats a sandwich from McDonalds. They have been making a move towards NL, but I think its still primarily beneficial for limit rather than NL. The guy heading up the bonus whoring section is on it! The also have great articles and a solid community.
Cardrunners does have a ton of NL cash game videos. Some at smaller limits, some at the higher limits. I think that some of the principles from the higher limits can carry over to the lower limits, but you have to be cautious about running sophisticated plays on unsophisticated opponents. CR has had the biggest impact on my cash game success (or at least improvement).
I'd definetly recommend CR for improving a NL cash game, and pokerfox for the value. I think they both will easily pay for themselves with future return.
I might add that CR just picked up actionjeff who has made some great MTT videos, and they have some good STT vids as well.
actyper,
I cant stand playing the tables below $25NL, and even those are tough. I've been buying into the $50NL tables and thats been working out.
Hopefully I can keep it up.
Thanks for posting, I've meant to add you to my blogroll in the past, but always forget, this is a good chance to remember.
GL at the tables!
Well I signed up for pokerfox. I've only skimmed through their content but it looks somewhat sparse when it comes to NL cash game content. It seems as though rakeback is must if I do pursue NL cash games and they offer plenty of advice. I'm still undecided if I'm going to pursue NL cash games next month but if I do I will probably check out cardrunners as you recommended. Thanks!
